Park offers home to science firms

Four speculatively-built warehouse units have been created with a £1m investment at the Northminster Business Park, in York.

The new back-to-back warehouses, which are being offered to buy or let, have been developed by the business park’s owner, Northminster. Northminster has refurbished a 12,000 sq ft warehouse at the heart of the business park using the original steel frame.

Northminster Business Park development surveyor, Alastair Gill, said yesterday: “We have speculatively developed these new warehouse units because we remain confident in the regional economy and believe many York and North Yorkshire businesses are still doing well, and looking to upgrade their premises.

“The larger building could attract science or bio-technology businesses wishing to move out from a university science park into a mainstream business location.”

The 18-acre Northminster Business Park is a former distribution facility which was acquired in 1995.

The business park has grown over the years to become a base for more than 40 businesses, employing a total of 500 staff.
