Pavers and Cotton Traders add names to retail showpiece

Retailers Pavers Shoes and Cotton Traders are the latest names to agree to take space at a new retail development in Skipton.

The two national retailers – both new names to the North Yorkshire market town – join Next, Cotswold Outdoor, Pizza Express, Chevin Cycles, and Dawsons Department Stores at the 46,500 sq ft Albion Place development.

The centre is now more than 95 per cent let with Pizza Express already fitting out their unit, with the team behind the retail scheme confident it will be fully occupied when it opens at Easter.

Albion Place, located to the north of the town’s High Street, has been developed by Preston-based Maple Grove Developments, the development division of Eric Wright Group.

Eric Wright Construction is the main contractor on the scheme, designed by Bowman Riley.

Graham Pilkington, senior development surveyor for Maple Grove Developments, said: “Pavers Shoes and Cotswold Outdoor are two further very strong names to have signed up for this new scheme.

“The development of Albion Place has gone to schedule and we are incredibly excited about its imminent completion and the contribution it will make to Skipton and the surrounding area as a modern retail destination.”

Albion Place will offer 330 car parking spaces and is expected to create more than 235 permanent jobs.

The Leeds office of GVA has provided advice and support to Maple Grove Developments during the scheme’s development.

Ben Hall, investment director at GVA in Leeds, said: “Maple Grove Developments are now in the process of working up the investment for sale.”

Bradys has acted as retail agent.
