Pinsent promotes 15 to the position of partner in the UK

LAW firm Pinsent Masons has announced the promotion of 15 people to its partnership, two of them in its Leeds office.

Tom Barton, a pensions specialist who focuses on the financial services sector, and James McBurney, a litigation specialist with a focus on the technology sector, have become partners. Suzannah Crookes has been promoted to legal director.

Chris Booth, head of Leeds office, said: “The promotion of Tom, James and Suzannah is a further indication of our investment in the Yorkshire region.”

Also in the legal sector, Berwins Solicitors has expanded its commercial team with the appointment of James Martin as associate director.

Mr Martin is a former partner of Harrogate law firm McCormicks and has also worked previously as a commercial litigator for Addleshaw Goddard, Halliwells and Towers Legal.

He will be based between Berwins’ Harrogate and Leeds offices.

Nic Webb has been promoted to director after two years with the Horsforth-based firm.

Richard Osbond has joined the firm from BWB Consulting with a brief to lead major projects and manage delivery teams.

Elsewhere, Harworth Estates, a property regeneration company based in Waverley, Rotherham, has made two appointments.

David Elliott has been appointed to Harworth’s recently established technical division, which is responsible for all infrastructure, remediation and building design work at Harworth’s sites.

Mr Elliott has joined as project manager and will be responsible for the delivery of building and infrastructure projects across Harworth’s commercial and industrial development sites. He previously worked for St Paul’s Developments.

Mark Richards has also been appointed to Harworth’s recently created environment, safety and estates management division as GIS and CAD technician.

Meanwhile, two new members of staff have joined the Hessle branch of Henderson Insurance Brokers.

Sam Outing, commercial claims handler, and Kelly Bristow, commercial broker, have joined the office.

Mr Outing was a claims handler for NFU Mutual in York before joining Henderson. Mrs Bristow, who has joined from Townends Insurance Brokers in Goole, has 16 years’ insurance industry experience.

Elsewhere, John Brooks has been promoted to the role of office director at planning consultancy Turley in Leeds.
