Plans revealed for logistics hub in Leeds which could create 500 jobs

UP to 500 jobs could be created at a proposed logistics hub in Yorkshire.

The property developer, Caddick Developments, has brought forward plans to deliver a new logistics and industrial hub at Leeds Valley Park.

A spokesman said: "The proposals would result in a significant employment boost to the area, totalling between 400 and 500 jobs once completed, and establish the site as Leeds’ premium ‘mid-box’ logistics scheme.

"Situated between Junction 44 of the M1 and Junction 7 of the M621, Leeds Valley Park is an ideal location for accessing regional and national road networks. The site sits within 15 minutes’ drive from Leeds city centre, making it a prime location to attract local, regional, and national businesses."

The plans include the construction of six light-industrial ‘mid-box’ units of varying sizes and styles.

The 20-acre site, which is owned by Caddick Developments, will provide 306,000sq ft of floor space.

The spokesman said: "This application makes a significant contribution to meeting the strong level of demand within the logistics and industrial market for developments of this quality and type and will be a welcome boost for the local economy."

If the scheme gains planning approval, Leeds Valley Park would join a growing number of logistics developments delivered by Caddick, including Wakefield 515, Crosspoint 33, and Moor Park.

The spokesman added: " In addition to long-term jobs created once completed, the proposals would also create a significant number of roles in the short to medium term, during the construction phase."

Caddick Developments forms part of the Yorkshire-headquartered Caddick Group, and has a current pipeline of work with a GDV (Gross Development Value) of more than £5 billion, with a focus on residential and industrial developments.
