Premier's online shop for the US

ELECTRONICS distributor Premier Farnell has launched an interactive online store to target the US market.

The Leeds-based group, which supplies thousands of components ranging from LEDs to microchips, said it has expanded its element14 community and technical portal to include a specific US online shop.

Premier claims the launch makes it the first global electronics

distributor to offer "integrated community functionality".

The group is targeting the lucrative electronic design engineer

community, and said element14 supports every stage of the design process, from conception to creation of a prototype.

The element14 store will only be available in the US. Design engineers will be able to buy the components they need, while accessing design tools, conducting research and collaborating with peers.

"The US market is set to enter an exciting period of growth, led by the high tech space, and Premier Farnell is committed to providing electronic design engineers with the products and services they require to remain competitive," said chief executive Harriet Green.
