Pretty strong sales figures for fashion label

FORMER Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher certainly won’t be looking back in anger at the festive season. Pretty Green, the high-end menswear fashion label which he partly owns, delivered a record trading performance over Christmas. Pretty Green, which has stores in Leeds and Sheffield, saw its total sales in the six weeks to December 31 rise by 39 per cent, or 33 per cent on a like-for-like basis. E-commerce sales increased by 41 per cent.

Richard Ralph, Pretty Green’s chief executive, said: “We are particularly pleased with our record performance over the Christmas period, but also for the whole first quarter of this financial year. We have seen positive trading across all our channels to market continue over the entire three-month period, with record sales in the last six weeks to the end of December. We believe our results are testament to the strength of our brand both in the UK and Japan, where we already operate five stores. Our expansion programme remains on track. In the first quarter, we opened two new London stores and announced the launch of six concessions in House of Fraser. We will continue to look to expand the brand during 2015, both in the UK and internationally,”
