Private post firm has expansion plan at new HQ

THE UK’s largest private postal sector operator has expanded its operation in Leeds by moving to new premises.

TNT Post, which has operated in Leeds for the past six years, has moved to Stadium Industrial Estate in Beeston.

The depot, which employs over 150 staff, handled 610,000,000 items last year. It said the new 70,000 sq ft premises will enable further expansion.

The company said it plans to invest in new sorting machines and recruit new staff as demand for its services continues to grow.

TNT Post collects mail from businesses, sorts and transports it to the nearest Royal Mail centre for the final mile delivery. Customers include BT, Barclays Bank, York Council, South & West Yorkshire Partnership Foundation NHS Trust and Hull Council.

The depot in Leeds is part of the TNT Post network which has sorting centres in Coatbridge, Bristol, Ashton, Iver, Rugby and Belfast.

Nick Wells, chief executive of TNT Post UK, said: “TNT Post has a strong regional business model and we are excited by the opportunities that the move in Leeds will provide.
