Punk set to rock the fashion world

FASHION clothing brand Funk d Punk is launching its first store this weekend, creating eight part-time jobs in South Yorkshire.

Rotherham-based Zaheer Khan is behind the business, which is launching its first store in the town on Saturday. The opening of stores in Doncaster, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Manchester and London are planned for later this year. The business has so far been operating via eBay, but is set to see a website go live by April 1.

A wholesale and international distribution network is being established in conjunction with business development and marketing partners Yorkshire Business Growth, in Huddersfield, which is already operating in Russia, China, Brazil, India, USA, Turkey and Europe. The business is currently focusing on men’s fashion, but plans to diversify into women’s clothing.

Mr Khan said: “The ideology behind the brand is to give the customers high quality products at a cheap price.”

He said the design has “got an edge to it”, adding that it is inspired by the Italian and South East Asian styles.
