PwC names new head of financial services in North

PwC has appointed Gary Shaw to head up its financial services practice across Yorkshire and the North East. In his new role, Mr Shaw will oversee the firm’s financial services practice across its four regional offices.

He has been based in Leeds for the last eight years. He is part of PwC’s North assurance practice, specialising in financial services across a number of areas including external and internal audit, risk, compliance and transaction-based work, such as financial due diligence.

Asset valuation and recovery group Winterhill Largo, which has offices in Wakefield and Manchester, has expanded its Yorkshire team with the appointment of Jayne Martin as head of operations.

Based in Wakefield, Ms Martin joins Winterhill Largo after gaining 15 years’ experience in the insolvency industry at Grant Thornton, RSM Tenon and, more recently, at Moorfields Corporate Recovery in London.

The Leeds office of national law firm Mills & Reeve has appointed Jane Booth as a solicitor in its family team.

She joins from the Manchester office of Laytons.

Stowe Family Law has appointed a new solicitor at the firm’s Harrogate office.

Lucy Phipps is the latest addition to the team of qualified family lawyers at the firm. She specialises in divorce and financial settlement case as well as issues concerning children, but she also has experience handling domestic abuse cases and obtaining emergency protection orders.

Engineering company, Koso Kent Introl (KKI) has welcomed seven new recruits, who join its growing teams across the company’s three sites in Brighouse, West Yorkshire.

James Palmer joins the company as area sales manager, while John Abrahams has been hired as a design engineer.

The other new recruits are Mark Jepson, Sara Crawshaw, Peter Ford, Steve White and Chris Wilson.

In the last two years, the engineering firm has opened an 18,000 sq ft factory and a hi-tech £2m machining centre.
