Reactiv to take on 90 new staff as marketing group moves contact centre

MORE than 90 jobs are to be created in Yorkshire over the next two months, it was revealed yesterday.

Direct marketing company Reactiv is moving its contact centre to a £250,000 base at the Lowfields Business Park, in Elland, West Yorkshire, to cope with de- mand.

As the 110 call centre agents move out, they will make way for 90 staff who will be recruited due to the expansion within the digital and apps sector at the company’s base at Gas Works Lane in Elland.

The company plans to hire more graphic designers and web developers as the group bids to increase its turnover and market share.

Reactiv was established by managing director Tony Abbott five years ago with just 12 staff.

The company has grown rapidly and now employs more than 200 staff.

Mr Abbott said: “We outgrew the contact centre at Gas Works Lane and need to take on more staff to fulfil demand.

“Our roots are in Elland and we want to stay here, so Lowfields is perfect.”

Mr Abbott plans to make Reactiv a leader in the direct marketing sector, and he has plans to take on more staff early next year

The company has just created its 20th app for the iStore, and it is believed to have more apps on the iStore than any other UK developer.

Mr Abbott said: “This move is all about taking the company forward.

“It’s exciting times ahead.”

In recent months, staff at Reactiv have rallied round to help the company cope with unexpected crises.

In June, staff helped to keep the business running when the company was affected by flood- ing.

A few weeks later, the main Reactiv building in Elland suffered a power surge which disrupted the electricity supply to the building. When the power was restored, the building’s main computer server was down and failing to re-boot.

Staff stayed at their desks until 3am to get the computer systems up and running, and ensure the business opened as normal the following day.
