West Yorkshire-based LCF Law decided to rebrand, 12 months ago and relocated its Bradford headquarters to One St James Business Park.

Speaking about the rebranding, Simon Stell, managing partner at LCF Law, told The Yorkshire Post: “Its been very successful, all the staff were involved in the process and that reflects the culture of the firm. It has helped position us in the new marketplace, to get us noticed and make us more recognisable.”

It has resulted in a 15 per cent increase in turnover across the firm’s three offices in Bradford, Leeds and Ilkley. The firm has also reported a steady growth in staff numbers and now has a 95-strong team across its offices. The Leeds office in Sovereign Street has seen staff numbers grow to 14.

Mr Stell added that they had seen an increase in instructions over the past 12 months. Coinciding with the rebrand, LCF Law moved to a new HQ in Bradford, leaving behind an old mill building for a more modern offering.

LCF Law will be adopting the Alternative Business Structure (ABS), allowing non-lawyers to own and invest in the firm, later this year.

“The ABS structure gives us greater flexibility to continue to meet the challenges of a changing legal marketplace,” said Mr Stell.

Mr Stell, who became managing partner at LCF Law in 1997, said: “The last ten years the change has been happening very fast. There’s been an increased use of technology in the process and delivery of legal services.”

LCF is looking at strengthening and adding services through organic growth. Mr Stell said: “We’re looking for organic growth and appropriate lateral hires to strengthen existing services and also to add new services.

“We have to continue to be attractive to prospective customers, both in service and price.”

The firm has seen profitability and turnover increase, but Mr Stell says that it is still a very competitive market.

He added: “These days lawyers need to be more responsive and more available to their customers than they’ve ever been. When I became managing partner our competitors were law firms in the locality whereas now there are many other providers of legal services across the country.”
