Record half-year results for furniture firm DFS

'‹Sofa specialist '‹DFS Furniture reported record half-year results, reflecting the success of its growth initiatives and the buoyancy in the current furniture market environment.

​The Doncaster-based furniture retailer said gross sales were up 7 per cent to £461.3m in the 26 weeks ended January 30.

EBITDA was up 12.3 per cent to £31m from £27.6m in the same period last year.

Richard Baker, chairman at DFS, said: “These record results confirm the success of our strategy and the quality of the DFS team at every level.
