Redhall targets nuclear with Baumert

Engineering firm Redhall Group has joined forces with a French company to pitch for work in the nuclear sector

The Wakefield-based firm has signed a commercial agreement with Baumert, a subsidiary of the French group, Groupe Gorgé, to bid for contracts to supply shield and security doors in the UK’s nuclear new build programme.

It said the potential revenue for these products for the partnership is approximately £50m for each nuclear reactor.

At the company’s annual general meeting in Leeds today, chairman and chief executive David Jackson will also update shareholders on its ongoing dispute with Vivergo Fuels.

Redhall’s contract with Vivergo at a new biofuels plant at Saltend was terminated last March due to what Vivergo called “unacceptable” performance. Redhall is now pursuing Vivergo for £16.7m.

Mr Jackson will say: “We are currently in an adjudication process with Vivergo and this adjudication should determine the measured account value.

“The adjudicator has indicated that he expects to make a decision during February. We will make an announcement once this decision has been communicated to us.

“Further action will follow to pursue recovery of the balance of outstandings principally relating to our claim.”
