Rok takes the high road for £32m deal

Maintenance and building firm Rok has won a large contract with Highlands and Islands Enterprise, the Scottish Government's economic and community development agency.

Rok, the sole contractor, said the deal was worth up to 32m over four years.

The company, which previously held the contract, won it again following a five-way tender to renew the deal.

Under the framework, Rok will undertake every stage of most of the agency's building projects across the entire Highlands and Islands region, from design right through to construction and completion.

Rok already has extensive experience of working with the agency after completing the 22m Centre for Health Science in Inverness, which provides academic and practical facilities to medical, nursing and dental students from the Universities of Stirling and Aberdeen.

Rok's chief executive, Garvis Snook, said: "Being re-appointed to deliver the prime contractor framework underlines the high quality of our work and the strong relationship we have developed with Highlands and Islands Enterprise."

Rok has offices in Leeds and Wakefield.
