Royal Bank of Scotland names regional director

THE Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) has appointed Dave Harris as regional director for its Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) team in Yorkshire.

Mr Harris heads up a team of 50 staff which provides banking services to around 250 corporate clients in the Yorkshire region from its offices in Leeds. He has over 20 years’ experience at RBS and was previously head of structured finance corporates for the North of England.

Meanwhile, Mark Kane has been appointed as branch manager at estate agency firm Dacre, Son & Hartley’s Baildon office. He has spent the last seven years working in estate agency and replaces Alan Stevens, who is retiring.

Phil Jones has joined Williamsons Solicitors’ Bridlington offices. Mr Jones joined Thorpe & Co in Scarborough in 1976, first as an assistant solicitor and then as a partner. Mr Jones ran, and eventually bought out, the firm’s Bridlington office and in 2004 he joined Brooke Williams, which closed its office in Bridlington this May. Web filtering and internet security company Smoothwall has announced three new senior appointments at its Leeds-based head office. Simon Wilcox, who was previously head of marketing operations, becomes Smoothwall’s director of innovation, while Ricky Dransfield is now the firm’s director of corporate sales. Ian Parrett joined Smoothwall as marketing manager earlier this year and now is director of marketing.

Steve Elrington has joined Jones Lang LaSalle’s retail agency team as an associate director based in its Leeds office. Leeds-based Hitachi Capital Consumer Finance (HCCF) has appointed Chris Mellor as head of customer service, and Christine Wheatley has retired from WGN Chartered Accountants after working from day one of the Leeds-based practice in 1974. She started as receptionist, telephonist, secretary and assistant to the founders, later becoming payroll manager. Kamna Sharma fills the position.
