Ruffer raises stake in Carclo

the £12bn hedge fund controlled by a multi-millionaire Christian philanthropist has upped its stake in a Yorkshire technical plastics group, writes Bernard Ginns.

A regulatory filing yesterday disclosed that Ruffer LLP bought 97,500 shares in Carclo, increasing its voting rights from 13 per cent to 14 per cent.

Last month Carclo announced “solid” first half figures resulting from lucrative links with the world of luxury cars. Aston Martin, Bugatti Veyron and Lamborghini all source their LED lighting from the company, which is based in Ossett.
