Schools in need of extra investment in buildings as pupil numbers rise

I think there is a real shift now away from traditional building materials. Timber from renewable supplies coupled with renewable energy sources make for a great energy efficient building that will last just as long as any traditional build.

What is the best project you have been involved in?

A new equestrian centre for the Four Seasons Hotel chain. We built a whole yard with changing facilities, lounge and stables.

What is your favourite building in the region and why?

The Minster in York. To think that this building dates back in its current form to 1472 is quite remarkable.

If you could change one thing to improve the property industry in this region, what would it be?

Schools are in desperate need of investment in buildings to cope with the increasing population.

Who has inspired you?

I still use a business guru from 20 years ago that I worked with for a lot of my business inspiration. I still use my competitors as an inspiration to make my business better than theirs.
