The Bradford-based manufacturer struck a deal with Lulu in the United Arab Emirates in April last year and has since then expanded rapidly, now operating in a total of 15 countries.

After securing well-known customers including Monoprix in France, Carrefour in Spain and convenience chains 7-11 in Hong Kong and Walmart in China, it has also expanded its offering with Lulu’s Choitrams across the Middle East.

Seabrook now has its sights on the Australian market with a new deal in the pipeline this month and has developed a number of key relationships at the recent Gulfood 2017 in Dubai, one of world’s largest annual food events.

The new deals are part of a sustained international growth plan for the crisp manufacturer which has also appointed corporate advisors to explore strategic options, including overseas acquisitions.

Kevin Butterworth, marketing and international sales director at Seabrook Crisps, said: “We have been overwhelmed by our success overseas and we are striving to boost our growth even further.

“Our international product has good appeal, with long shelf-life and flavours relevant to the non-UK market and our customers warm to our British heritage.”

Seabrook was founded in 1939 when Charles Brook opened a fish and chip shop in Bradford.

It began making crisps in 1945.
