Aerial Extreme, increased its number of sites from four to six.

The Bedale firm opened its first 250-acre course at Camphill Estate, near the town, in 2003.

It has since added more sites, starting with the urban high wire adventure course in Milton Keynes in 2006, a tree-based course at Trentham Estate in Stoke in the same year, and a site at Knowsley Safari Park in the North West three years ago.

Its turnover was close to £1m last year and Aerial expects it to increase to about £1.2m this year.

Last year the firm invested £500,000 as it opened sites at the IceSheffield arena and another at the Trafford Centre in Manchester.

Each course has 30 obstacles set at varying heights including rope bridges, scramble nets, zip wires, swinging logs and balance beams.

Sinan Osman, Aerial Extreme’s managing director, said: “We have built a strong brand which is synonymous with safety, adventure and fun for children and adults alike.”

One of the firm’s major challenges has been finding suitable new sites which are easy for customers to get to, but Mr Osman said they had been helped by working with the property team at law firm Clarion for the last five years.
