Serco secures £55m client services deal

INTERNATIONAL services firm Serco has sealed a £55m partnership agreement with Freemans Grattan Holdings (FGH), the UK arm of the Otto Group.

Under the 10-year contract, Serco will provide customer contact services for all FGH’s UK brands, which include Grattan, Freemans, Oli and Kaleidoscope.

As part of the deal, 400 staff at FGH’s contact centre in Sheffield will transfer to Serco, with their terms and conditions of employment protected. Koert Tulleners, chief executive of FGH, said: “I believe this new partnership presents a great opportunity for all our existing contact centre staff.”

Mr Tulleners said the deal would provide the scope to capitalise on the spare capacity within the Sheffield contact centre. Jerry Benson, managing director of Serco’s UK and Europe global services business, said: “This partnership is an exciting opportunity for Serco’s new Global Services capability.”
