Shopfitting company wins £1m contracts

BAR and shopfitting company Andy Thornton has won contracts worth more than £1m with work in Germany, Norway and the United States.

The firm, based in Elland, West Yorkshire, said the specialist joinery work had been agreed over the last fortnight.

It will supply a traditional British pub interior for a new microbrewery in Oslo, which will open in time for the Nordic World Ski Championships in February.

Andy Thornton has also won a 360,000 deal from a private client to refurbish an Edwardian house in Baden Baden in Germany. The house lost many of its original architectural features when it was converted into offices shortly after the Second World War.

It has also been boosted by orders for a 100,000 contract from the Moores Hotel in St Peter Port in Guernsey to refurbish its Austrian patisseries, the 400,000 interior of a Dubai pub and a contract to provide mahogany bar and seating for a traditional English pub in Franklin in the US.
