John Lewis has worked with local sign manufacturer, Omega Signs, to produce the internal and external signage for its new shop in the soon-to-open Victoria Gate complex.

The external sign was lifted by crane onto the side of the John Lewis shop and the internal signage is due to be installed over the coming months.

The manufacturer already has a good relationship with the John Lewis Partnership, supplying signage for various John Lewis and Waitrose shops around the UK for the past eight years including; Exeter, Birmingham, Horsham and Basingstoke. Managing Director of Omega Signs, Duncan Chapman, commented: “We have formed a strong relationship with the John Lewis Partnership over the years, so to have the opportunity to create the signage for the new store on our home turf was very exciting and we’re delighted to be involved. It was a really proud moment to see our signage lifted onto the fantastic John Lewis shop earlier today.”

James Prince, Head of Branch at John Lewis Leeds, added: “As part of our commitment to opening a shop in the city of Leeds, we’re dedicated to working with local suppliers. Omega Signs have proved their expertise having created various signs for John Lewis shops up and down the country, and we were delighted to be able to work with them again on our Leeds shop.”

John Lewis Leeds will be the third of the retailer’s shops to open in Yorkshire.
