Sky Betting proves a smooth Operator at awards

LEEDS-based Sky Betting and Gaming has scooped a major national award.

The company received the Operator of the Year title at the EGaming Review Operator Awards 2012, which were held at The Roundhouse in London.

The team, which includes Richard Flint, the managing director, Ted Moss, the marketing director, and Andy Burton, IT director were handed the award by comedian Jimmy Carr.

Sky Betting and Gaming is one of the country’s biggest online betting and gaming companies. It employs 400 people in Leeds and has four core brands: Sky Bet, Sky Vegas, Sky Poker and Sky Bingo. Sky Betting and Gaming also includes one of the UK’s leading multi-sports websites, SportingLife.com.

Richard Flint, the managing director at Sky Betting and Gaming, said: “It’s fantastic to be recognised for the work we’re doing and it’s incredibly motivating to win considering the quality of the other nominees.” Sky’s operations in Yorkshire have grown fourfold since 2006.

The company now employs more than 1,500 people in areas ranging from IT and marketing, to customer services and journalism.

The eGaming Review Operator Awards scheme is in its eighth year.
