Sky High back in the black

DATA collection firm Sky High said it has returned to profit.

The Tadcaster-headquartered firm reported group revenues of £5.8m for the year to March 31, 2012, up 22 per cent on the £4.8m it recorded in 2011. Pre-tax profit for the year was £80,000 compared to a £250,000 loss the previous year.

This was after exceptional costs of £76,000 relating to the acquisition of rival traffic data firm Count on Us earlier this year, said Sky High.

Mark Mattison, Sky High’s chief executive, said in a statement today: “It is pleasing to be able to report on both a positive set of results and a positive outlook for the group after the challenges of the previous financial year and despite the continued uncertainty in the UK economy.

“There are signs that the market for traffic data collection has improved, largely driven by the some of the government’s infrastructure projects. I am excited about the number of development opportunities that the business has and I am increasingly confident about the prospects for the group moving forward.”

Group operating profit was £203,000, compared to a £212,000 loss in 2011.
