Small firms ‘positive on economy’

SMALL firms are positive about the economic outlook despite the continued difficult state of the economy, according to a study.

A survey of 1,000 small businesses by mobile phone giant O2 showed that most were determined not to get “bogged down” with problems such as fewer banks lending and less consumer spending.

Claire Darley of O2 said: “There’s absolutely no doubt that Britain’s small business culture is proving itself a force to be reckoned with. Even against the backdrop of such tough economic conditions, the positive sentiment within the small business community remains staggering.”
