Software specialist shows its style

ENTERTAINMENT software specialist Zoo Digital has signed up an offshoot of Warner to be the first customer for its new automated style guide.

The Sheffield-based firm, which also works with Walt Disney and Sony Pictures, launched the automated production system for home entertainment.

Warner Bros is one of the world's biggest studios and is behind the Leonardo di Caprio blockbuster, Inception.

Zoo develops systems that enable major film studios and other publishers to deliver film and TV products to audiences in a cost-effective way.

Home entertainment products are usually developed for the North American market and are then adapted to suit the needs of up to 60 different territorities.

Style-guide production is its latest addition. It can also be used in consumer products, video games and publishing, where manufacturers need to produce versions of the same product in different languages.

Stuart Green, chief executive, said: "In the past, style-guides – those all-important standard, style and format-setting documents for product packaging and marketing campaigns – have been created manually.

"Now, with our new automated system, these documents can be produced more quickly and easily, saving time and cost and providing greater centralised control."
