The Hunmanby-based family-run firm – which is one of the world’s leading designers, manufacturers and suppliers of scientific noise and vibration measurement instruments – has confirmed more than £700,000 worth of overseas project sales and a six per cent rise in home sales.

The impressive sales come despite the political upheaval and economic uncertainty caused by Brexit and have helped boost the confidence of its shareholders.

Head of Sales and Marketing at Cirrus, Martin Ellison, praised the firm’s staff for helping to kickstart a new decade with the impressive figures.

He said: “With all the uncertainty that Brexit has caused over the last few months, the fact that we’ve had such a strong start to the year is testament not only to the talent and determination of the sales and marketing team at Cirrus, but also to the strengths of Cirrus Research as a business.”

Cirrus Research was established by sound technology pioneer Dudley Wallis in 1970. As well as leading the world in its noise and vibration technology, the firm provides a range of complementary services including noise awareness training, equipment hire and servicing.

Its innovative and groundbreaking reputation has seen Cirrus Research attract some of the region’s most talented people who are helping businesses across a wide range of sectors to reduce risks posed by noise in the workplace and the environment.

The firm has recently enjoyed success in the motorsport sector as Motorsport UK’s technical noise partner. The role has involved supporting the governing body in reducing the risks posed to their marshals and scrutineers.

Other projects have seen the family-run firm work in aviation, construction and engineering, while Cirrus Research unveiled its latest product, the Quantum cloud-based noise monitoring solution, at the Autosport International Engineering show in January.

Cirrus Research became one of only five UKAS-accredited acoustic calibration laboratories in the UK in 2018 and has a network of more than 40 sales partners across the world, included dedicated sales operations in France and Germany.

Daren Wallis, Managing Director at Cirrus Research, said: “I’m proud of everyone at Cirrus for the amazing start we have had to the year.

“I feel privileged to lead a group of people who share my passion for helping to reduce the risks that noise presents. Cirrus wouldn’t be the business it is without the hard work and dedication of our team, as well as the support of our distributors and loyal client base.”
