Soup business Yorkshire Provender sold to US giant

Family-owned food business Yorkshire Provender has been sold to US giant Hain Daniels for an undisclosed sum.

The North Yorkshire-based firm, that makes premium branded soup, will now form part of the same group that owns Linda McCartnery products and Sun-Pat.

Founded in 2007, Yorkshire Provender is owned by wife and husband Belinda and Terry Williams.

A statement from the company confirmed it will continue to operate from its Yorkshire base.

“We look forward toworking with Hain to continue to lead the next chapter in the brand’s development”, said Ms Williams.

James Skidmore, choef exectuive of Hain Daniels, said: “The two businesses are very excited about the future opportunities that lie ahead for our customers, our consumers and our employees following the acquisition.”

He added, “The acquisition, which is subject to formal clearance from the Competition and Markets Authority in the United Kingdom, will enable the Yorkshire Provender business to continue its growth and offer its delicious soups to more and more consumers through the continued use of Yorkshire Provender’s existing infrastructure and the use of Hain Daniels’ infrastructure. Last year Yorkshire Provender was named among the top winners at the YP’s Excellence in Business Awards, winning the Best Company with a Turnover or £10m or less.
