Southdale growth goes on thanks to contract wins

HALIFAX-based construction company Southdale yesterday revealed that it had secured contracts with a total value of more than £50m as part of its expansion plans.

The new contracts include work on the Fairfields Estate, Leeds, which is worth 11.2m.

The social housing development includes 132 homes for sale and rent.

It will be delivered in six phases by Southdale on behalf of Accent Housing Group and Leeds City Council, with work expected to be completed by May 2011.

It has also secured a 1.2m contract for work at Brig Royd, in

Ripponden, West Yorkshire.

The social housing development includes 11 homes for rent and shared ownership.

In North Yorkshire, Southdale is working on a 4.6m social housing scheme at Carlton Road in Skipton.

Paul Moore, managing director for Southdale, said: "These contract wins rubber stamp our continued growth.

"It increases our market share in areas such as Yorkshire and the Humber, the North East and North West."
