Splashing out with a winning message

WATER jets with a message have proved to be a money-spinner for a Yorkshire company.

Green Street Media is an environmentally-friendly advertising company, which specialises in spraying marketing messages on to the street with a high-pressure water jet trained on a stencil.

The company was launched in June 2010 by former Sheffield Hallam student Conrad Thornton, who began by promoting it via social media sites. Staff at the university’s Enterprise Centre referred Mr Thornton to the Entrepreneur Exchange for professional advice.

Green Street Media has gone on to sign up prestigious clients such as The Natural History Museum and applied messages to some of the most famous streets in London. The company has five full-time staff and a turnover of around £120,000.
