SportsShoes.com keeps on running

BRITAIN, it seems, is full of budding athletes who want to emulate the success of stars like Mo Farah.

The specialist online running and fitness retailer, SportsShoes.com, is celebrating its seventh year of double digit growth. It recorded a turnover of £33.5m over the last year, up from £24m the year before. The online family business, which has its head office and warehousing based in Shipley, West Yorkshire, has seen its web traffic increase by 100 per cent year on year and its sales grow by 40 per cent. After tripling the size of its warehouse space, SportsShoes.com has increased its workforce from 30 to more than 100 in the last three years.

Brett Bannister, SportsShoes.com’s managing director, said: “We’re on a mission to help our customers live a healthier life through sport. We have achieved some great success but what is important is that we have done this responsibly.”
