What was your first job?

I worked on the checkouts at my local Sainsbury’s.

If you weren’t in your current position, what would you be doing?

An architect. It’s what I always wanted to be when I was younger.

What was your worst mistake?

Being offered an all-expenses paid trip to Turin for the Europa Cup final which I turned down due to work commitments. 

What is your ideal day away from the office?

I’d spend it canyoning and white water rafting with friends – there’s a fantastic spot for these extreme sports in Austria.

Name one person you would most like to have dinner with and why?

Sir Richard Branson, for one or two words of inspiration.

What was your best subject at school?

French

What are your hobbies?

I enjoy exercising, taking part in extreme sports and keeping time aside for my nephew.

What would you do if you won the Lottery?

Return to Malaysia, where I spent my honeymoon, and possibly not come back.

What’s your favourite item of clothing?

My Patrick Cox shoes – he’s an iconic, award-winning designer and I always wanted to own something from his label.

What is your favourite time of the day?

Evenings definitely. I’m certainly not a morning person.

What is the best thing about Yorkshire?

The countryside – living in Harrogate means I have the Yorkshire moors and the Dales on my doorstep.

What would you like your epitaph to be?

Give me a little longer to think of something.
