On The Spot With Allie Langham

Allie Langham is a director of Chrysalis Photography and lives with husband Chris and children, Max and Ruby, in Todwick.

What was your first job?

Petrol pump attendant at my dad’s garage.

If you weren’t in your current position, what would you be doing?

I’d be back in travel, having worked in the industry for 17 years before the children came along.

What was your worst mistake?

Sending someone to Sardinia who I’d told I had booked to go to Corsica!

What’s you ideal day away from the office?

The seaside on a sunny day watching the kids running in and out of the surf, fish and chips on the pier and a camera slung round my neck.

Name one person you would like to have dinner with?

My Grandmother. She died before I was born and I am fascinated by her life.

What was your best subject at school?

German.

What are your hobbies?

I love photography and I know it’s my job, but being outside with my camera makes me happy.

What would you do if you won the Lotto?

I’d do all the boring things like pay off mortgages for friends and family, buy my dream car, a big diamond and go on a six-week summer holiday with the kids!

What’s your favourite item of clothing?

A black and white oriental silky tunic/dress.

What’s your favourite time of day?

At the weekends, it’s 8am cuddled in bed with the kids and a cup of tea and during the week, it’s 8pm with a glass of wine.

What’s the best thing about Yorkshire?

The people – having lived in London it’s a breath of fresh air for someone to volunteer a breezy ‘good morning’.

What would you like your epitaph to be?

She was loyal, cheeky and regretted nothing.
