I’ve always wanted to write books, maybe when the kids have grown up...

What was your worst mistake?

Leaving my job at Commercial Union to work as a ‘floating’ medical secretary.

What’s you ideal day away from the office?

The coast with family for fish and chips!

Name one person you would like to have dinner with and why?

My dad, because he’s been gone for 16 years and there’s so much to tell him.

What was your best subject at school?

I loved history but just wasn’t very good at it. I wanted to be an archaeologist when I was young.

Bell ringing on Thursday evenings which I fell into it by default!

What would you do if you won the Lottery?

Probably give a lot – so many people need help. I could also take myself off and write that book while my house was being renovated – it’s desperate.

What’s your favourite item of clothing?

Don’t really have one, on second wearing I usually decide nothing looks as good as I thought!

What’s your favourite time of day?

I quite like the morning, especially if I’m up on my own.

What’s the best thing about Yorkshire?

Puddings of course! Seriously, it’s such a beautiful place to live. The countryside is on the doorstep. I’ve never visited anywhere I would rather live.

What would you like your epitaph to be?

She did her best!
