Andrew Kneeshaw is the commercial director at Sanderson, the Wakefield-based independent building contractors.

What was your first job?

When I was 14, I worked as an office administrator at my dad’s firm of quantity surveyors.

If you weren’t in your current position what would you be doing?

When I was at school I really wanted to be a doctor but chemistry was not my strong point – the desire was there but not the ability unfortun- ately.

What was your worst mistake?

It’s hard to pick one and I am honest enough to say that I have made many mistakes in my time but I have never been afraid to put them right.

What’s your ideal day away from the office?

An early morning run followed by a day at the beach with my family would be perfect.

Name one person you would like to have dinner with and why?

Mohandas Gandhi because he knew how to treat people with respect and humility.

What was your best subject at school?

Maths.

What would you do if you won the lottery?

Live comfortably and give, give, give!

What’s your favourite item of clothing?

My tweed jacket.

What’s your favourite time of the day?

Between 6am and 6:30am – peaceful and reflective.

What’s your top time saving tip?

File your emails every night – you will be amazed at the difference it can make.

What’s the best thing about Yorkshire?

The unbelievable countryside.

What would your epitaph be?

I think I overdid it.
