I was a teenager when I got my first job as a paperboy. I would also spend my weekends helping out in a local shop near to where I grew up in Hull.

My first “real” job in the industry was as a junior graphic designer at an agency in Driffield, East Yorkshire.

If you weren’t in your present position, what would you be doing?

If I didn’t have to work, I think I’d be using my time to help others less fortunate.

The reason for this is that I have friends and family that have been in situations where they have needed support and the help they received was invaluable. It’s made me realise I’d like to give something back.

What is the worst mistake you have ever made?

Smoking that first cigarette. It’s so easy to start and very hard to stop.

What’s your ideal day away from the office?

When I’m not at work, I like to be out and about in the great outdoors.

However, I have a few home improvement projects on the go at the moment, so any spare time I have, I’m up to my armpits in DIY.

Who would you like to have dinner with and why?

If he were still alive, I would have loved to have dinner with Steve Jobs – the co-founder and CEO of Apple, who passed away in 2011. I’m a bit of a techie and would have so many questions for him.

What are your hobbies?

Just lately, I’ve been spending a lot of time at home partaking in some DIY. Thankfully, the house hasn’t fallen down just yet.

What would your epitaph be?

If I could, I’d do it all again.
