What was your first job?

I was a cook in an old people’s care home in Ilkley. Knowing nothing of cooking I relied on my mother for recipes.

If not in your present job, what would you like to do?

I’d love to be a travel writer or a professional golfer: both get to circle the globe.

What was your worst mistake?

Probably signing up for the 2011 Coast to Coast Challenge in Scotland: 81 miles cycling on and off road, 21 miles running and a three-mile kayak.

What would be your ideal day away from the office?

A day spent running, eating and sunbathing on the beach at St Queens in Jersey.

Name one person you would most like to have dinner with?

Wilma Rudolph – one of the most celebrated female athletes of all time.

What was your best subject at school?

History, I enjoyed losing myself in the past.

What are your hobbies?

Long-distance running, pilates, yoga, reading and cooking.

What would you do if you won the Lotto?

I’d move to Jersey

What is your top time-saving tip?

Get the important things done early. Pick the top two to three things you need or want to accomplish, get those done first.

What is your favourite time of the day and why?

6.30am when I am out on my long run on a Sunday; it feels like I have the world to myself.

What is your favourite garment?

My wedding dress.

What is the best thing about being in Yorkshire?

The people: friendly and down to earth with a great sense of humour.

If you believe in yourself you can.
