On The Spot With Laura Mathewson

What was your first job?

I sold bikes at Toys R Us in Doncaster.

I have never been any good at riding bikes but I was pretty good at selling them.

If you weren’t in your current position, what would you be doing?

I always fancied being a paramedic but I’m not very good with blood so I’m not sure how that would have worked out!

What was your worst mistake?

Without giving anything away, I’ve had quite a few fashion mistakes in the past.

What’s you ideal day away from the office?

It would probably include a spot of shopping and lunch in Leeds.

Name one person you would like to have dinner with and why.

Prince Harry.

It would be great to get an insight into his world and I would like to think that he would be quite fun!

What was your best subject at school?

I would definitely say sociology

What are your hobbies?

Shopping, reading and nights out in Sheffield.

What would you do if you won the Lotto?

I would take a really long holiday somewhere hot and beautiful like St Barts and decide how I would share my fortune.

What’s your favourite item of clothing?

I love my Hunter wellies, which come in handy when winter sets in.

What’s your favourite time of day?

I’m not a morning person so I would have to say evening is my favourite.

What’s the best thing about Yorkshire?

The people – the sense of community and friendliness.

What would you like your epitaph to be?

I didn’t regret anything.
