I was once involved in a car incident with a very determined lady from the Women’s Institute, who was desperate to get her cakes down to the village hall.

What’s your ideal day away from the office?

Finding my own fresh view up in the mountains; they’re a perfect escape from the daily rush of life.

Name one person you’d like to have dinner with and explain why?

Sir Ranulph Fiennes. Firstly, to explain to him why, contrary to his belief, Yorkshire people make fantastic travelling companions. Secondly, to introduce him to Yorkshire Sauce – it might just sway his decision.
