What was your first job?

My first job, aged 14, was in a fruit shop.

If you weren’t in your current position, what would you be doing?

Two of my passions are hairdressing and fashion. I would love to work in either.

What was your worst mistake?

Getting married at 19 to the wrong person was a mistake. But it inspired me to travel and I met my current husband in Australia. I don’t believe in mistakes as such, only lessons to be learnt.

What’s you ideal day away from the office?

I love going shopping with my daughter. She’s 22 and at University in Leeds, so it’s so much fun for us to spend the day together.

Name one person you would like to have dinner with and why?

Heston Blumenthal. His eccentric ideas and unusual concoctions are wonderfully fascinating.

What were your best subjects at school?

English and French.

What are your hobbies?

I love travelling, wining and dining!

What would you do if you won the Lottery?

I’d open the world’s best health farm!

What’s your favourite item of clothing?

There is nothing better than snuggling on the sofa after a long hot bath, with a glass of red and watching a film in my fluffy dressing gown.

What’s your favourite time of day?

Any time that is not early in the morning!

What’s the best thing about Yorkshire?

My friends. I have made so many amazing friends and met some wonderful people in Yorkshire.

What would you like your epitaph to be?

She enjoyed life to the full.
