What was your first job?
My father was a builder, so I spent school holidays working with him.
If you weren’t in your current position, what would you be doing?

What was your worst mistake?
I should have taken school more seriously.
What’s your ideal day away from the office?
Spending time with my wife, Sarah, and twin boys, Thomas and Matthew.
Name one person you would like to have dinner with and why?
Tony Hadley. I grew up following Spandau Ballet and still go and see him perform every year.
What was your best subject at school?
PE. I represented North Yorkshire at football and played schoolboy football for Middlesbrough FC.
What are your hobbies?

What would you do if you won the Lottery?
Retire and spend more time with family and friends.
What’s your favourite item of clothing?
As my wife states, I wear ‘dad’s clothes’ – I hope she means I wear sensible clothes for my age.
What’s your favourite time of day?
You need to be a morning person in the meat industry.
What’s the best thing about Yorkshire?
Being back working in Yorkshire. I moved away in 2001 to further my career and I have been given the opportunity to return to God’s County with Karro.
What would you like your epitaph to be?
He was a good bloke and will be missed by many.
