What was your first job?

I worked at a motorway services whilst I was studying for my A-levels.

If you weren’t in your current position, what would you be doing?

Airline pilot, perhaps.

What was your worst mistake?

Jumping off a wall on an assault course at Sandhurst during a team-building exercise. I ended up in A&E and was limping for weeks afterwards.

What’s your ideal day away from the office?

A walk down the beach at Whitby followed by fish and chips out of the paper, sitting on the harbour wall.

Name one person you would like to have dinner with and why?

I was very close to my late nan and I would love to be able to have a good long gossip with her.

What was your best subject at school?

Maths was always my favourite. I like numbers.

What are your hobbies?

I am an avid reader of novels, usually sci-fi fantasy.

What would you do if you won the lottery?

Apart from helping family and friends, I know some buildings that are in desperate need of restoration and I would enjoy the challenge.

What is your favourite item of clothing?

My husband’s woolly jumpers – at this time of year, I’m always wearing them, much to his annoyance!

What’s your favourite time of day?

I love sunsets so evenings are definitely my favourite.

What’s the best thing about Yorkshire?

It’s such a diverse place – great cities, picturesque bays on the coast, moors, the Dales...

What would you like your epitaph to be?

I really don’t know! I just hope that my friends have a good party after the funeral!
