Passing up on the opportunity to see Liverpool in the 2005 Champions League Final.

If you weren't in your present job, what would you like to do?

I always wanted to teach when I was at school and I still quite fancy it.

What is your ideal day away from the office?

Walking in the Dales or the Lake District.

Name one person you would like to have dinner with, and why?

I suppose I should pick a business guru, but I'd love to have dinner with Nelson Mandela. I think he is probably the most charismatic and interesting man alive today. I feel I'd learn something and be inspired.

What was your best subject at school?

German. Naturlich!

What would you do if you won the Lotto?

Keep enough to maintain and guarantee my existing lifestyle and then set up a trust fund and work with both UK and overseas charities.

I love watching and playing live music.

Get into work early. You get more done before midday than after.

What is your favourite time of day?

If you're pushing I'd have to say early morning. Just before the world starts to turn.

What is the best thing about Yorkshire?

The people. Witty, honest and friendly.

What would your epitaph be?

Spike Milligan got the best one: "Told you I was ill". Perhaps it's for other people to decide.
