On the Spot with Tamsin Cassidy

Tamsin Cassidy is director of Harrogate-based renewable energy experts Clean Energy (Yorkshire)

What was your first job?

I love shoes, so my first job was working in Roland Cartier shoe shop in Harrogate on a Saturday.

If not in your present job, what would you like to do?

Retire to a nice hot climate, maybe the South of France or Spain.

What was your worst mistake?

Buying a green Lotus Elise. Everything went wrong with it. Green is supposed to be quite an unlucky colour for cars but I didn’t find this out until after I bought it.

What would your ideal day be away from the office?

Walking the dog on Bamburgh beach (or any beach for that matter) with my family.

Name the person you would most like to have dinner with?

If he’s cooking it… Jamie Oliver.

What was your best subject at school?

Art and IT.

What are your hobbies?

Walking the dog, eating out and anything creative. I’ve just started knitting – well it’s more of a winter hobby – mainly scarves, because they are easy.

What would you do if you won the Lotto?

Enjoy it sensibly.

What is your top time-saving tip?

Buy a robotic hoover. Press go, leave the house, come home, nice clean floors. How perfect is that?

What is your favorite time of day and why?

First thing in the morning, it’s fresh, quiet and you have the rest of the day in front of you.

What is your favourite garment?

Jeans, I did have over 20 pairs on my last count, but that has since changed.

What is the best thing about being in Yorkshire?

Beautiful countryside and the friendly people. I’d like to say I’m Yorkshire born and bred, but I’m not, I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else though.

What would you like your epitaph to be?

Live life before it’s too late.
