Stafforce nets £1m food firm contract

RECRUITER Stafforce, a Rotherham-headquartered business, has started work on two key contracts in East Anglia after establishing an office in the region.

The privately-owned recruitment firm, which employs 142 people, including 89 in Yorkshire, originally established a Norwich base a year ago to meet demand from existing client, Youngs Seafood, for its Norfolk-based Cromer Crab Company business. Young’s chilled division is headquartered in Grimsby.

Now the consultancy, which has a £45m turnover and was founded in Rotherham more than 30 years ago, has also been appointed by Stowmarket-based sushi producer Ichiban UK. The £1.4m contract will see it recruit 60
food production operatives a
day.

It has also started a three-year contract, the value of which was not disclosed, to supply Norwich City Council with temporary clerical and administrative staff. Stafforce joins Reed, Adecco, Select Appointments and Office Angels as retained service providers. The Norwich office currently employs four people.
