Stagecoach director makes his next stop the Yorkshire HQ

BUS operator Stagecoach Yorkshire has appointed John Young as its new acting commercial director. Mr Young, who has worked for Stagecoach for almost 35 years, joins from Stagecoach Manchester where he held the position of network manager.

He will be based at Stagecoach Yorkshire’s headquarters at Eldon Arcade in Barnsley. He takes over from Rupert Cox who has moved to the company’s Gloucester operation.

Elsewhere, BJSS, the IT consultancy with offices in Leeds, Derby, Manchester London and New York, has announced the appointment of Nick Hines as head of its London consultancy division.

Serving most recently as CTO of innovation at ThoughtWorks, he has previously served as managing director of ThoughtWorks UK and ran the Technical Advisory Board, responsible for developing and harvesting technical innovations from around the globe.

Glass manufacturer Beatson Clark has made two key appointments to its South Yorkshire-based production team.

Eddie Pickering has joined the company as quality director while Robert Ledgard has been recruited to join the design team.

Mr Pickering joins Beatson Clark from Stölzle Glass Group where he was head of cold end and quality control.

“Eddie’s wealth of experience will further enhance the company’s drive on quality, process and efficiency improvements,” said Lynn Sidebottom, sales and marketing director at Beatson Clark.

Mr Ledgard has worked in product and mould design for the last 11 years and his experience includes working on embossing projects in glass for some well-known spirit brands.
