Strategic Team Group celebrates with charity pledge

Directors of Strategic Team Group are marking the building contractor's first decade in business by pledging to raise another £100,000 for charity.

The Castleford firm, one of Britain's fastest-growing suppliers of building property services, raised the same amount in its first 10 years in business for organisations including the Child Brain Injury Trust, Meningitis Research Foundation, Cancer Research and British Heart Foundation.

Now directors, pictured left to right, Gary Taylor, Andy Coates, Andy Watson, Charles Tweed and Ian Bowness, have pledged to raise more cash, all in aid of The Prince of Wales Hospice in Pontefract, over the next 18 months to two years. The hospice offers specialist respite, terminal and palliative care for adults with progressive illnesses.

Managing director Mr Watson said: "We have succeeded despite the difficult economic climate. We have firm plans to build on the success through acquisitions and we are already actively looking for opportunities in the North West, North East, Yorkshire and Scotland."
