MANY businesses in Yorkshire have enjoyed strong growth over the last quarter, as the UK economy continues to recover, according to a survey carried out by Yorkshire law firm Baxter Caulfield.

The law firm’s quarterly Yorkshire Economic Index reports a significant increase in activity among private sector companies in Yorkshire and the Humber.

According to Baxter Caulfield, at least 524 private sector jobs were created in the region over the quarter.

Stephen Newman, a senior partner at Baxter Caulfield Solicitors, which is based in Huddersfield, said: “The findings from our latest Yorkshire Economic Index bode well, with recent positive data surrounding unemployment and GDP.

“It is clear that business confidence is on the rise in the region as the economy strengthens, which is good for the local economies as the country gears up for further growth.”
