TAB owner named new IoD regional head

THE entrepreneur behind an organisation that aims to improve the performance of Yorkshire’s business leaders is the new head of the region’s Institute of Directors (IoD).

Kenton Robbins, owner of The Alternative Board (TAB) based in Leeds, will become the regional director of Yorkshire IoD on July 8.

Mr Robbins, who is the current chairman of the IoD Yorkshire, Young Directors’ Forum, will succeed the outgoing regional director, John Thompson, who retires in July.

The Alternative Board is a coaching and peer advisory group made up of chief executives and business owners.

Mr Thompson said: “Kenton has a first class business pedigree and is well equipped for the challenges facing business over the coming years.

“I am very pleased to hand over to such a worthy successor.”

Mr Robbins said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be given such a privileged and prestigious opportunity, leading the IoD in Yorkshire and building on the foundations that John’s put in place will be an honour.

“John’s work over the last seven years has seen the IoD grow from strength to strength. The support and (personal) growth I’ve experienced myself through being part of the IoD is why I’m so passionate about it.

“I’m excited about taking the IoD forward and looking to further develop business in the region.”
