Tax partner retires from Ernst & Young

ERNST & Young tax partner Alan Kirkman, who is based at the firm’s Hull office, has announced he will retire this year.

Mr Kirkman joined Ernst & Young in 1989 and has more than 35 years of experience as a corporate tax adviser. Before joining the global professional service firm, he worked for HMRC as an inspector in London and for The Burmah Oil Company.

Yorkshire senior partner, David Buckley, said: “Over his time with the firm, Alan has seen a huge amount of change to the city, the region and the profession. He has made a significant contribution to our firm, clients and our people in the last 23 years. We wish him the very best for his retirement.

Ernst & Young employs 350 people in Yorkshire, across two offices in Leeds and Hull.
